Usually drink coffee or something. I don't really know. If I'm overwhelmingly tired and have no actual NEED to stay awake I usually just take a nap. I only end up with a headache if I keep myself awake once it becomes difficult to keep my eyes open.
Are all nighters something you have grown used to?
God no. I've only stayed up all night a handful of times, and never once was it at all pleasant -__-
Do you use sun block or tanning accelerator?
Neither. As pale as I am, I absolutely hate the feeling of greasy sunscreen (though I do like the smell) so I usually refuse to wear it unless I'm planning on spending the day out in the sun for whatever reason. Somehow I usually manage not to burn, though I don't tan either. Not that I mind, I don't care for the tanned look at all, especially not on myself.
Do you usually wear sunglasses when you’re driving?
I don't drive, but even if I did I doubt I would wear sunglasses often. It's usually cloudy here anyway.
Do you wear your shoes around the house?
Nah, but I do tend to keep my socks on. My feet are always cold D:
Is there ever a time that you enjoy cold showers?
Only when it's exceptionally hot out. Or if I'm someplace humid, like the midwest in summer, ugh. Even then I usually warm it up after I've cooled off,
What clothes are you most comfortable in?
Well, I usually wear black leggings with t-shirts and sweaters that are a size or two too big for me. I don't like wearing tight-fitting tops at all, it makes me conscious of my body and I start to sink into my old insecurities. The most comfortable clothes of all are loose flannel pajama bottoms and big soft t-shirts.
Are you more likely to keep secrets about yourself, or level with people?
I'm not especially secretive, except about a select few things which I've yet to share with anyone. I don't go out of my way to share personal facts about myself, but if someone asks about something I won't often lie.
Is there anybody you’re not ashamed to tell anything to?
Mmm. I'm not sure. I don't think I'd necessarily feel shame telling Pedro or Michelle anything, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be embarrassed sharing certain details >__>
What has changed most about you in the past year?
Man, a lot has changed in the past year now that I think about it. I finally declared my major, and have been doing some legitimate research about future career opportunities. I ended a long term relationship and started a new one. I quit my job at the store... There've been other things as well, though they escape me at the moment. I know those seem like life changes rather than personal changes, and they are, but they've drastically affected how I view myself (both positively and negatively).
Are you good at painting nails?
God no, I'm fucking terrible at it. I can pain my left hand with decent results SOMETIMES, but the right always looks like shit as I'm completely useless with my left hand. Both hands can be shaky though -__-
If it’s late at night and you’re hungry, what do you reach for?
Uhhh. There probably isn't anything FOR me to reach for most of the time. We don't really keep much food around Pedro's apartment
But if we feel compelled enough to walk down the street to 7-Eleven I usually get Reese's cups or some other peanut-butter and/or chocolate related product. Or one of those Rice Krispie Treats that come in the blue foil packet :3
Smoothies or slushies?
Smoothies! So long as they don't have anything gross in them like papaya or mango. Or fucking wheat grass, seriously get that shit out of my smoothies, I do not give a flying rat's ass about it's health benefits.
Are you good at filling silence in awkward situations?
God no. Unfortunately in such situations I always feel obligated to do so and usually only succeed in cranking the awkward up to 11.
That being said, silence usually doesn't feel awkward to me so long as I'm with someone that makes me feel comfortable.
Be honest, have you ever used Wikipedia for school work?
Every. Single. Time. Though I'm more likely to use Wikipedia in the early stages of planning a paper - I try to use scholarly articles from the university's electronic library as sources whenever possible. Wikipedia is useful when I just want a broad overview of a certain topic. I also use it to study occasionally, though that happened more often when I was still taking science courses.
What word should you really probably remove from your vocabulary?
Nothing comes to mind, really. I notice that I tend to say "pretty much" and "basically" far too often, but that's mostly within the context of the internet, doesn't happen so much when I'm actually speaking (so far as I know).
Eh, it depends on what I'm doing. I can't really multitask if I'm trying to focus on something school-related as I always just end up distracted by whatever more enjoyable task I'm doing on the side. I almost always multitask while watching movies/TV though. It drives Pedro crazy because he seems incapable of comprehending the fact that I actually can pay attention while simultaneously browsing tumblr or playing games on my phone -__- I just like to be doing something with my hands, it's difficult for me to just sit and watch something unless I'm really tired or reeeally into whatever I'm watching.
What’s your opinion on good grammar: important or not?
I'm an English major, I'm kind of under obligation to be a grammar Nazi >__> Sometimes I wish I cared less about grammar, because in the grand scheme of things it seems kind of ridiculous to get so upset over someone's misuse of your/you're. I tend to subconsciously develop a higher opinion of people who use proper grammar, and can be unintentionally dismissive/judgmental of people's opinions if they fail to do so. I really shouldn't be such a douche about it - just because it comes naturally to me doesn't mean it does for everyone, and there are plenty of people who fail horribly at grammar and are still exponentially smarter than I am.
Will you eat something if it falls on the ground?
Ehhh... Depends on what ground it fell on. And what type of food it is! Like if I drop a cracker on the floor in my room, I'll probably still eat it unless it rolls off into one of the cobwebby corners where I dare not tread >__> But if I drop something like peanut butter toast that's likely to pick up every bit of cat hair it comes into contact with then hell no I'm not eating it. Also, I won't eat anything I've dropped on the ground outside.
Depends on the circumstances, I guess. If it's quickwrite for class or something else that I don't give much of a crap about, I'll just cross it out and keep on writing. If it's a letter or something else that I actually want to look aesthetically pleasing then I'll start over. I really don't write on paper all that often though, not even for class.
Ignoring nutrition, could you live off veggies for the rest of your life?
Well, I do like carrots with ranch dip... but I guess ranch dip isn't a vegetable -__- Just no, I couldn't live without peanut butter or chicken strips. Or chocolate. Already given them up once, NEVER AGAIN.
Do you see the value in education?
I think I used to much more than I do now. The further I get into formal education the more aware I become of its flaws. I value worthwhile education, anything that legitimately expands people's perceptions about the world and its inhabitants. But the bullshit we learn in school? Most of it is useless; it's forgotten and we never have use for it again. I wish my education had better prepared me to live in the real world. There's far too much emphasis on vague concepts and reassurances that ~you can do anything you set your mind to~. No, no I can't. Teach me to identify what I'm good at, allow me to focus on that, and show me how to put it to use in the job market.
Elaborate on a way you have volunteered?
Elaborate, eh? Well, I used to volunteer at a teen crisis line called Teen Link. I had a beret-wearing supervisor named Daemond who liked to participate in poetry slams. The training lasted somewhere around 70 hours, and I barely volunteered on the actual lines before quitting as the training alone satisfied my volunteer requirements for that year (Catholic high school = a whole lot of volunteer requirements). Sometimes they bought us Taco Del Mar. I hate Taco Del Mar. The end.
Do you use a full length mirror daily?
Newp. I guess there's one at my dad's place, but I don't go there every day.
Can you walk in heels, or do you feel awkward in them?
I can walk in them, but I prefer not to just because they're fucking painful.
Any TV shows you sit down weekly to watch?
When The Walking Dead is airing Pedro and I walk down to the bar to watch it on Sundays, and we always download Archer as soon as it airs on Thursdays. Aside from that I don't really keep up with TV shows. I just don't give much of a damn.
Are you more physically flexible or situationally flexible?
What.
Do you care much for the music on the radio?
It's been years now since I actually listened to the radio, so I don't even know what's playing these days. I can still pretty easily assume that I wouldn't care for it though, whatever it may be. I'm picky about music, I like certain songs here and there, but not the entire collective works of certain artists or anything. Bleh.
Does anybody know about your sex life other than your partners?
I suppose Michelle and I touch on the subject of our respective sex lives every now and then, but we don't go into extreme detail or anything. Aside from that... well my parents know that I have sex (not that I've actually said anything to my dad about it, but I'm 23 and in a long term relationship, he ).
Even if you don’t like politics, do you still have opinions on the issues?
I try to keep up with political issues just for the sake of being informed, but for the most part politics just piss me off because the entire system is so corrupt and manipulative. The one issue I care about above all else is abortion (I'm pro-choice), but other equality-related topics are important to me as well (gay marriage, anti-descrimination laws, etc). Overall though, politics just make me feel helpless. I don't believe that America is truly a democracy - the popular vote does NOT determine who is elected or what laws are passed. Whoever holds the money holds the power.
Mac or PC?
My laptop is a MacBook (just like everyfuckingone else's) and my desktop is a PC. I like this setup because I prefer Macs for their sleek interface and immunity to most computer viruses, but PCs are far superior when it comes to gaming.
Are you one to sneak food into movie theaters?
Why not? I don't want to pay for their overpriced candy. Popcorn is absolutely worth it though.
What type of pillow is your favorite to sleep on?
A soft but flat one. Thick pillows kill my neck, ugh.
Will you tell someone if there’s something in their teeth?
No >__> I feel like I would only succeed in making them feel needlessly awkward. Whatever is stuck in their teeth will probably be gone in a few minutes anyway.
Are you prone to illness?
I never used to be, most of the time I only get sick two or three times a year. But ugh. I've lost track of how many times I've been sick this winter -__-
What does most of your money go toward?
Food, usually, since that's usually the only thing I ever really NEED to buy.
Do you ever actually make your bed?
When I actually slept in my bed, no, it was never made. Messy, nest-like beds with extra blankets and pillows are just extra comfy :3 Now it's usually made since I just kind of lay on it when I go to my dad's, but it's still kind of rumpled and covered in pillows and giant stuffed animals. If we're talking about the bed I actually sleep in every night (Pedro's, not mine)... well, no, I don't make that either. And neither does he. It pretty much just has one sheet covering the mattress and a comforter to sleep under though, so it just doesn't seem worth it.
Do you make an effort to eat healthy?
Not lately; I have a terrible diet, but it's all I have time for and I can't afford much better anyway.
